wtm038 is definitely an outstanding release, something between house and real love to technoid sounds. the long a side comes with a classical intro and turns into a p erfect groovy but still monumental house track. the b starts with the track * call me a cap* and is the third collaboration with dop . great melodic atmospheric sounds with a perfect arrangement between vocals and all the typical addicted masomenos style. the second one on the b side has a featuring with tobi neumann who releases also his third ep with the french duo. * pushpush* is more trippy with a great step sequencer arrangement. all together, great release again from masomenos and this will be a special one which you surely wont forget

early support from raresh, akufen, and jan krueger, next up on sol asylum is non other than julie marghilano with her innerspace ep. taking the listener to another dimension of sound, she brings her range of musical knowledge to create a solid package with a stunning remix from fred p. starting things off on a analog journey with “innerspace” we move through an interstellar universe with detailed grooves full of percussive splatters and echoing synths that moves us into a dream like state of mind. conjuring the jazz planet in berlin with“katzbachjazz”you are immediately transported to a galaxy of sound with galloping percussion and a classic techno layout. using more 909 techno drum elements she creates a whirlwind of sound with a delicate touch. taking things a little bit deeper with “cosmic karma” she presents a heavily detailed drum structure full of violin experimentation that creates a dark atmosphere but still bringing an uplifting and joyous vibe. finishing off the package is something unique from fred p who julie asked to remix for her due to her enormous respect for him. the emotionally charged remix of“cosmic karma” shows a different side of fred p while still keeping his signature sound in tact. the remix takes us through an ever-evolving voyage through time and space.

with a passion for disco, italo, chicago house and detroit techno patrizio cavaliere aka rocco universal has been collecting music for the last two decades and it’s these musical influences that have shaped his raw, tripped out disco/house production sound. ‘tiny islands’, his debut release for leng, is a real melting pot of rich melodies over a thick baseline and is a clear example of rocco’s passion for the dancefloor. with something as multi layered and deep as the original track it needed ray mang to add his trademark sound to the remix. here he goes straight for the jugular drawing out some of the loops and percussion leaving no mistake as to when this should be dropped on the dancefloor.

next up from fuse london is the latest ep from resident rich nxt. hot on the heels of launching his own nxt records, this scorching four track platter represents his strongest and most dancefloor friendly ep to date. donkey, quixotic and longtime showcase an intricate yet effective sound, laced with powerful bass, sharp percussion, subtle synths, analogue dirt and bags of groove. all of the tracks have gained widespread support and captured ears around the globe whilst the dark, lurching flux one provides something a bit different.

if you ve followed local talk thru the years you ve most likely noticed how we like to throw a few curve-balls every now and then. for our 65th release we ve got gomma boss mathias modica aka munk and ndatl head honcho kai alce sharing the black gold. two producers with their own unique style presenting something special. while munk s original version of hot medusa is a shimmering and warm head-nodding & toe-tapping jam, the remix by mr alce is deep, soulful and musically rich house. two very different takes on one track, take your pick. on the flip munk delivers purple dust. this time he s upped the tempo a few bpm s, accompanied by a deep bassline with lush melodic synths and chords. mr alce ends the 12- with a dub of hot medusa which is brilliant from start to finish. another highly recommended and essential release.

shipwrec are opening 2016 with some acid cheer. taking that iconic silver box and getting something new out of its aging circuitry is never easy, but with musical imagination it can be done

a:g delivers his vinyl debut on aquavit, with something for both house and techno heads! with the title track dobra mare being a journey into endlessly deep dub techno soundscapes with a strong rolling bottom end for the darker rooms, the flipside offers a homage to the classic roland tr707 drum machine with the percussion sounds we all know so well, accompanied by a big bass lead to remember the next day. both tracks also get proper remix action: label boss robert solheim goes deep and progressive for dobra mare, and icelandic wonder boy viktor birgiss does a melodic deep dub house approach to i wish i had a 707.

banoffee pies records return to their original white label imprint for another limited ep with bp003. tip. again the bristol label continue to compile artists and styles from all over following there no f***s given approach. the one sided a1 heavily samples a drum solo from the blockbuster film of 2015 whiplash, a strung out track filled with space and delicate percussion. jaffa surfas b1 provides a mid way techno break pumped with analog sounds and a swirling kick throughout. to end, the finely unearthed and re-issued b2 edit closes this diverse release with a bang offering something completely different. rolling jazz feelings for the dance floor. more love for the banoffee people.

lumieux is from bucharest, ro and got in contact with electronic music at an early age (14 years) when he decided to continue with this style of music. for four years he experienced several genres of electronic music: techno, dnb, deep house, tech house and something uncommon genres: experimental, house, industrial etc. finally he decided to combine two genres of electronic music: house and techno.

by now, we ve come accustomed to tabernacle records exploring the outer reaches of detroit-influenced techno, electro and ambient. even so, their latest outing from regular contributor jeremiah r is something special. beginning with the floatation tank-in-space ambience of chorus, calisto sees the producer laying down a whopping eight cuts that variously touch in drexciyan electro, artificial intelligence-era idm, and hard-to-define hybrids that confirm the intergalactic potential of electronic music. interestingly, the music is roughly equally split between horizontally inclined, beat-less explorations, surging dancefloor workouts, and the kind of mid 90s home listening fodder that sits somewhere in between.
